I always love coming across these wooden tennis rackets. There are so many variations I'm almost opt to start collecting them but alas, I don't have the room for them! What I love about these vintage wooden rackets is the craftsmanship that goes into them.
This listing is for an absolutely beautiful vintage Davis Regency Wooden Tennis Racket with original zipper canvas case. The racket is made in U.S.A. The handle is 4 1/2 (used a tape measure around the middle of the handle).
Condition is in spectacular shape given how old it is. The racket still has a laminate finish to it (on both sides) on the throat and the neck and runs along the top. There is little to no paint wear. I really couldn
’t find any major cosmetic issues. Typical “rashing” is apparent on the top of the racquet.
The strings are fully intact. I ran my fingers along the strings to see if there were any loose or detached strings. Everything is tightly secured and fastened.
The handle is in phenomenal shape. Its all original and has little to no wear
. The butt end of the handle is in pretty good shape as well with the black "TAD" logo still stamped on it.
The protective zipper case for the racquet is in excellent shape. It
’s has a very nice vibrant white background with yellow, gold, and dark blue colors. The zipper is perfect. Interior of case is just as good as the exterior. Another thumbs up on condition.
It's a great racket with a lot of life left to it! Either use it or display it proudly!
