    Description

Rare Vintage "Cleveland" by Horsman Antique Wooden Tennis Racquet  Ca. 1895
Made by E. I. Horsman Co. out of New York. Horseman is the oldest American tennis racquet maker, and a highly sought-after brand. This rare "Cleveland" model (Ca. 1895) is an example of a transitional flat top design, as racquets were moving to a more common oval configuration. Labeled as strung with "Oriental Gut" and stamped "12 oz." on side of handle. Leather butt cap.
    26 1/4" long, 8 1/2" wide, 4 1/4" grip.
Good condition for over 100 years old. Some broken strings, missing about half the leather on the end cap. Clean, nonsmoking home. See all pictures.
