This racquet was marked with
“
Spalding Gold Wreath"
early logo on throat; however, the logo is worn away.
The head has a wide Transitional Flat-Top shape.
The frame is straight in excellent antique condition with
a beautiful dark amber patina; however, there are scratches, scuffs, nicks, and dirt.  There are incised owner's initials/ name.
The strings are original antique natural thick dark gut with 5 broken cross strings with trebling at the top intact.
The cross hatched handle is in good condition with wear to the surface hatching.
Half of the original leather butt collar is in place.

on the shaft.
